Encajando las piezas
En base a nuestra experiencia en este tipo de viajes,
sabemos que los dos primeros días de trabajo son extremadamente difíciles. Van
surgiendo día a día múltiples obstáculos que en nuestro país se solucionan en
un abrir y cerrar de ojos pero que en Burkina requieren muchísimo más tiempo y
paciencia. Necesidades de material que van surgiendo, material sanitario que se
estropea, material que no llega a tiempo… y así podríamos citar una larga lista
de detalles. Hoy, día 31 de Enero al final del año 2012 y a la mitad de nuestro
trabajo queremos hacer un resumen del ritmo de trabajo.
A nivel logístico, uno de los contratiempos más grandes que
hemos tenido es en el transporte del equipo. La noticia más negativa ha sido
que un día antes de nuestra llegada a Ouagadougou, la ambulancia que la
Asociación La Medusa llevó a Burkina para nuestro uso sufrió un accidente y no
podemos disponer de ella puesto que la
pieza se ha enviado a Ghana para conseguir una nueva. Esto ha sido un gran
hándicap para el equipo que vamos solucionando de la mejor manera posible, que
en muchos casos para por apretarse bastante en los vehículos que tenemos. Al
mismo tiempo, hoy se ha estropeado la bomba de dirección del
4X4. Así que entre todos hemos estrechado los lazos de unión para volver
a casa.

Based
on our experience in this type of travel, we know that the first two days are
extremely hard. Every day multiple obstacles arise that in our country are
solved in the blink of an eye but in Burkina require much more time and
patience. Material requirements that arise, medical equipment that is damaged,
material that is not on time ... and we could cite a long list of details.
Today, January 31 at the end of 2012 and at the half of our work we want to
summarize the work pace.
A
logistical level, one of the biggest setbacks we've had is in the transport of
equipment. The news has been more negative than a day before our arrival in
Ouagadougou, the ambulance, that Medusa Association took to Burkina for our
use, had an accident and we can not use it because the damaged piece was sent
to Ghana to get a new one. This has been a major handicap for the team that we
solved in the best way possible,
traveling all in the vehicles that we have. At the same time, today
crashed the steering pump of 4X4. So we have all strengthened the ties between
us on the way back home.
Pese a ello, el ánimo del equipo es muy alto, y ayer todos
los grupos de trabajo estuvieron a pleno rendimiento. A medida que pasan los
días, son más las personas que se acercan a la Clínica Ellel Medical para ser
atendidos. Realmente estamos notando que mañana ya podemos se un puzzle con
todas las piezas completadas, un puzzle que ofrece un paisaje de amor,
compresión, unión, y lo más importante : de amor desinteresado. Quién podría
resistirse a formar parte de el?
El equipo de recepción, después de un inicio complicado ya
ha establecido el procedimiento adecuado con la ayuda de los voluntarios de
Acts para evitar las aglomeraciones de personas que desean ser atendidas por el
equipo de emsimision. Evangelia y Daniel son los encargados de derivar a los
pacientes a sus respectivas consultas.

Despite
this, the team morale is very high, and yesterday all working groups were at
full capacity. As the days pass, more and more people come to the Ellel Medical
Clinic for treatment. We're really feeling that tomorrow we can be a puzzle
with all the pieces completed, a puzzle that offers a landscape of love,
understanding, unity, and most importantly of selfless love. Who could resist a
part of it?
The
reception team, after a difficult start and set the proper procedure with the
help of volunteers from Acts to avoid crowds of people who want to be served by
the team emsimision. Evangelia and Daniel are responsible for referring
patients to their appointment.
Pese a que aun no tenemos el ecógrafo, el Dr. Joan Matas
está trabajando en la formación de la Dra. Clarisse Poda con un ecógrafo
antiguo pero en perfectas condiciones. Muchas mujeres de la zona será la
primera y única vez que puedan hacerse una ecografía para ver latir el corazón
de su bebe. En la medicina, hay muchas experiencias fantásticas en las que
podemos ver la grandeza, belleza y perfección del cuerpo humano, pero una de
las más bonitas es el nacimiento de una nueva vida. Este ha sido el caso vivido
por este equipo que ha traído al mundo un precioso bebé.

Although
we have not yet the ultrasound, Dr. Joan Matas is working on the formation of
Dr. Clarisse Poda with a scanner old but in perfect condition. Many women in
the area will be the first and only time that can get an ultrasound to see the
heart beat of your baby. In medicine, there are many fantastic experiences in
which we can see the greatness, beauty and perfection of the human body, but
one of the most beautiful is the birth of a new life. This has been the case

El equipo de ORl sigue realizando exploraciones audiológicas
igual de completas y prácticamente con los medios técnicos de la consulta de
EMSI en Barcelona. Es un objetivo prioritario explorar a todos los huérfanos de
la escuela de Acts Ministry y por ello Abigail les hace a los niños las
audiometrías correspondientes.

ORL team continues to conduct equally complete audiological explorations and
practicaly with the technical resources of the EMSI query in Barcelona. It is a
priority to explore all the orphans from the school of Acts Ministry and
therefore Abigail makes to the children the appropriate audiometries.
El equipo de Oftalmología ya han empezado la cirugia de
cataratas a un buen ritmo. Es increíble ver como estas personas entran al
quirófano ciegas y en unos días podrán ver el mundo que les rodea y quizá algún
día tendrán la oportunidad de ver la imagen del puzzle que cambió su vida.

Ophthalmology
team have already begun cataract surgery at a good pace. It is amazing to see
blind people go to the operating room and know that in a few days they will see
the world around them and maybe one day have the opportunity to see the image
of the puzzle that changed his life.
Los doctores Joaquín y Daniel continúan con el inagotable
desfile de pacientes para suministrarles la medicación necesaria para su
dolencia y en algunos casos derivarlos al laboratorio o a algún especialista.
Es para destacar la paciencia de las personas que vienen a visitarse siendo
capaces de esperar las horas necesarias para ser atendidos gratuitamente por
algún médico. Aquí en Burkina el acceso a la atención sanitaria es prácticamente
imposible para estas gentes.

Doctors
Joaquin and Daniel continue with the endless parade of patients to provide them
the necessary medication for their condition and in some cases send them to the
laboratory or to an other specialist. It is to highlight the patience of the
people who come to visit, able to wait the hours needed to be addressed by a
doctor for free. Here in Burkina access to health care is almost impossible for
these people.

Lynne Smith, un contacto de nuestros buenos amigos Les y Pilar de DCI england.
Ella está trabajando desde hace años en el norte de Burkina, en la zona de
Gorom-Gorom junto a la frontera de Mali. Ella y su familia está viviendo
actualmente en Ouaga por diferentes
circunstancias y se ofreció a trabajar en uno de los sillones odontológicos.

In
dentistry today we had the presence of Dr. Lynne Smith, a contact from our good
friends Les and Pilar from DCI england. She has been working for years in the
north of Burkina, in the Gorom-Gorom near the Mali border. She and her family
are currently living in Ouaga for different circumstances and she offered to
work in one of the dental chairs.

estos pocos días que ha estado con nosotros en Ouaga. Ahora uno de los
voluntarios de la Clínica Ellel Medical continuará trabajando en esta área.

Microbiologist Wilson Aguilar, this morning has left for Barcelona from here,
we appreciate your work and effort during these few days that has been with us
in Ouaga. Now one of the volunteers Ellel Medical Clinic will continue to work

El equipo del programa infantil continúa dejando su huella a
estos centenares de niños y niñas que durante estos días están participando de
todas las actividades organizadas. Es increíble ver las caras de felicidad de estos niños participando en juegos y actividades que probablemente realizan por primera vez en su vida. El empeño, ilusión, esfuerzo que ponen en estas actividades en las que no necesitan ninguna compensación ya que el simple hecho de participar es el mejor premio que pueden recibir. Niños y niñas que agotan las fuerzas del equipo pero también llenan sus corazones de amor, y esto es sin duda la mejor recarga para sus fuerzas.

The
child program team continues to leave its mark on these hundreds of children
who are participating in these days of all activities organized. It is amazing
to see the smiling faces of the children participating in games and activities
probably as first time in his life. The commitment, enthusiasm, effort they put
into these activities that do not require any compensation because the mere act
of participating is the best reward they can receive. Children depleting the
forces of the team but also fill their hearts with love, and this is definitely
the best recharge of forces.
El equipo de comunicación sigue trabajando para preparar
materiales audiovisuales que puedan ser usados para levantar fondos para
nuestros proyectos. Ayer fue especialmente emocionante visitara la familia
Zongo. Ellos tienen 5 hijos, 4 de los cuales forman parte del programa de
apadrinamiento Oumarou. Pudimos estar con la familia durante unas horas para
intentar explicar como viven estos días su día a día. Le pedimos a los niños
que sacaran sus juguetes para jugar y salieron corriendo al interior de la
vivienda para sacar allí mismo todos los juguetes que ellos tienen. No vamos a
intentar explicar con palabras lo que vimos, pero os dejamos unas imágenes para
vuestra reflexión.

The
communications team is working to prepare audiovisual materials that can be
used to raise funds for our projects. Yesterday was especially exciting the
visit from Zongo family. They have five children, four of which are part of the
sponsorship program Oumarou. We were able to be with family for a few hours to
try to explain how they live his daily life. We asked the children to search
their toys to play and they ran into the house to get there all the toys they
have. We will not try to explain in words what we saw, but we leave some
pictures for your reflection.
Hoy concluimos este año cansados, pero contentos y
satisfechos por el trabajo realizado hasta ahora y por los resultados obtenidos
hasta ahora, esperando y deseando el año que mañana empieza podamos continuar
ayudando y compartiendo el amor de Dios entre la gente necesitada de Burkina
Faso.

we conclude this year tired, but happy and satisfied with the work done so far
